Novak Djokovic - 2010 US Open Tennis Betting

US Open DjokovicThe US Open Tennis odds are telling us that World No.3 Novak Djokovic is the 4th favourite to claim his second Grand Slam title. Djokovic made the breakthrough at the 2008 Australian Open when he defeated Jo-Wilfired Tsonga in the Final. Since then however he is yet to kick on and appears to be slipping behind Murray, Nadal and Federer in the pecking order despite maintaining his high ranking.

2009 was slightly harder for Novak and it started with a Quarter-Final defeat to Andy Roddick at the Australian Open when he retired. Djokovic has retired from matches in three of the four Grand Slams and he sited heat exhaustion in Melbourne as the reason for his withdrawal. The French Open has always been a struggle for the Serb and last year it was no different as he got knocked out in the 3rd Round which was slightly below par for such a top player.

Wimbledon saw a slight improvement where he reached the Quarter Finals before falling to in form German Tommy Haas which was a decent performance from Novak as he looked to be improving on the grass. Djokovic is yet to go past the Quarter-Finals of any Grand Slam in 2009 and that will be a concern to potential Novak punters but he has shown he has the ability so is still a dangerous player.

Djokovic is earning the tag as Mr Consisent and that mmakes him an interesting prospect for punters, when it comes to the big tournaments over the past two years the Serb has done well without going all the way. There has to be some major doubts about his ability to beat the likes of Nadal, Federer and Murray in a big Grand slam Semi-Final. With this in mind he has to be a great eachway bet but may come up short when it comes to actually winning another Grand Slam anytime soon.
